The Harare South Health Centre site was officially handed over to NMSI by the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) on 1 July 2020.
With all site inspections completed, the official handover meeting for the site of the proposed Harare South Health Centre in Stoneridge was attended by Tinashe Chidhubha and Gaylord Munhuwa from the Ministry of Local Government & Public Works (MLGPW); Eng. Clive Marimo from MOHCC; David Gate from DIT; and NMSI representatives Phibion Makoni, Brian Madamombe and Tendayi Gatsi; with social distancing protocols observed.

The Stoneridge site is the first to be constructed under the 2020 Health Facilities Programme, masterminded by MOHCC under a $210 Million health infrastructure investment programme, involving the design, construction, equipping and commissioning of three new 120-bed District Hospitals and thirty new 20-bed Health Centres.
